If you are caring for an elderly relative or friend who is living with Alzheimer's Disease or Related Dementias (ADRD), you may have already discovered what others are soon to find out: there are limited services for those needing in-home care or care home services. Alaska has one of the fastest aging states in the nation; by 2035 seniors are expected to constitute 17% of the population. Consequently, the number of people diagnosed with ADRD is expected to double in the next 10 years, putting further strain on already limited resources.
Although it can be challenging and stressful to care for older adults, there are a whole series of existing and pending innovations focusing on supporting seniors and their caregivers. Past Health TIE presenters include Ceresti Health, Zinnia TV, Dose Health, and Caregiven. On February 10th, Amissa will share how they use artificial intelligence to aggregate biometric and behavior data to develop customized, predictive analytical models to assist both those with ADRD and those that care for them. All these features have been made compatible with sleek smartwatches worn by people living with ADRD. So not only will our loved ones receive the care they need, but they will also look good while doing it!
Alaska is currently at a pivotal point in preparing for the medical care required of a large aging population. Amissa’s innovative and practical technology has come just in time to help meet the needs of a growing senior population. If you want a peek into the future to see how you might be able to support your loved ones, join Health TIE on February 10th.
